Anatomically correct Dolls – What’s the fuss?
I must confess, when I first came across the design of an anatomically correct doll, I was more shocked by the shear accuracy in detail of the doll than impressed!
So brace yourself, if you’ve not yet introduced your children to the physical anatomy and difference between boys and girls, then perhaps anatomically correct dolls are not for you!
In short, anatomically correct dolls, as their name suggests, are dolls made in the physical resemblance of males and females, sexual organs and all!
To some parents, anatomically correct dolls are the best thing to come out of Disney since the Stork and baby story, yet, to some, the dolls are an abomination!
Whatever side of fence you may happen to be residing on, these dolls will definitely spur up conversation in the household, with lots of explanations to the kids about why this doll is made this way and this one that way!
Anatomically correct dolls come in various sizes and prices, with the most popular, and this being a collector’s doll, named Linda Webb’s “Charlie” Anatomically Correct Baby Doll
Meet Charlie – the First of Real Anatomically Correct Dolls
When you first meet “Charlie,” dreaming away in his soft blue knitted outfit, chances are you won’t be able to resist cuddling him close.
With that being said, be prepared for a real surprise when you go to change his diaper! This is because “Charlie” is the very first anatomically correct collectible vinyl doll!
Sculpted by Master Doll Artist Linda Webb, “Charlie” is so special that he’s been nominated for both the 2005 Dolls Awards for Excellence and the 2005 DOTY Award!
“Charlie’s” perfect, little-boy body is handcrafted entirely of RealTouch vinyl skin, capturing every tiny wrinkle and crease, even his adorable “outtie” belly button!
His soft, hand-applied hair, eyelashes, and tiny finger and toenails will melt your heart.
No doubt Collectors everywhere will want to call “Charlie” their own sweet, little boy!
Priced at $149.00, Baby Charlie no doubt fits into the mold of a Collector’s doll, however, for those parents really keen to enlighten their children about the differences between boys and girls, or just anxious to get their little girls to nurture an almost human doll, then these anatomically correct dolls with no doubt bring so much joy into your household!
